Carreta's Mexican Restaurant
About This Spot
Carreta's Mexican Restaurant invites you into a vibrant yet comfortably unhurried space tucked away on Olive Boulevard. From the moment you step inside, the warm glow of colorful murals and thoughtfully curated Mexican heritage art casually set the tone, blending a sense of tradition with a light, welcoming energy. It’s the kind of place where families gather, friends catch up over drinks, and newcomers feel immediately at ease in the open, airy dining room.
The pace here flows naturally — neither rushed nor languid — letting conversations unfold alongside plates arriving fresh from the kitchen. Service is quietly attentive, supportive without hovering, making sure you have what you need to savor the flavors and each shared moment.
The menu mirrors this inviting, heartfelt approach. It’s a celebration of familiar Mexican staples, made with care and a touch of thoughtful creativity. You might find yourself drawn to hearty, well-balanced fajitas or the comforting pairing of enchiladas with rice and beans, while a house margarita or a humble glass of horchata provide a refreshing counterpoint. There's a sincere generosity in how the food is prepared and presented, whether it’s a classic taco or a sweet finish like churros or flan, which all feel like an honest homage to the rich culinary traditions.
Carreta’s doesn’t try to overwhelm with trendiness but instead offers a quietly joyful discovery for anyone seeking authentic taste and a genuine local atmosphere. It’s a spot where the food and drink gently invite you to relax and enjoy the company around you, leaving a subtle but lasting impression that lingers long after the meal concludes.

Great food, great service. We were there early before dinner rush, but good all the way around.

A Sunday afternoon with our niece and we were in the mood for some Mexican food. Carreta’s was close by so we decided to give it a try. So glad we did. Great atmosphere. Super clean and beautifully decorated. The service was speedy and friendly and the food was simply delicious! We were blown away by the entire experience! We will be back!

We were soo pleased with our experience here!! Everything was perfect. The food was incredible, we didn't wait long for a table, and the service was impeccable. The servers are efficient and attentive. We never had to ask for anything. I highly recommend the carne asada, chorizo tacos, and the fish tacos. Looking forward to dining here again soon!

Good Mexican food with ample portions and reasonable prices. The drinks were delicious and the food flavorful. The atmosphere is is open and modern with light colors. Great for a quick dinner with friends.

Very nice, new, clean, Mexican restaurant. The decor is unique with large paintings of Mexican heritage on the walls. There were plenty of servers on, we were waited on quickly, and the food came out in a reasonable time. They are kid friendly with high-chairs. Our server Nancy, was attentive, though it was not busy. The food was good; it tasted authentic to a northerner The portions were smaller than similar Mexican restaurants I've visited, so it felt expensive, even though it was not. I'd recommend visiting if you're comfortable with meals between $10 & $20. I hope you have a good experience like we did.
